Angela had woken up early in the morning to nosies outside her building. She looked out her large master bedroom window, but saw nothing. She turned over and tried to fall back to sleep but couldn't. It was useless she figured she may as well just get up and get an early start on her day.
Angie did still try to be quiet though. It was only four o'clock and she knew her neighbors in the apartments above and below hers were most likely still sleeping. With allot to do in her day she was kind of glad she had woken up early. Now she might have a chance of getting it all done.
She started by making breakfast for herself and Everest, her Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. Everest was her graduation present from her brother Tom. He had known she was missing having a dog, but she didn't want one while she was at college, so on the last day of classes he drove out from New Jersey with him. Angie loved him and spoiled the little puppy to death. He had also become a farm favorite.
After eating her breakfast of cinnamon toast and an apple, Angie started doing chores around the apartment. Her number one task was to organize all of her tack and other stuff that would need to move with the horses.
"This is going to take a while," she sighed.
She started the long task. She cleaned, polished, and oiled every last piece of tack. Once that was done she dug out all of her cover and bags. All of Joker's tack got covered with his colors of royal blue and burgundy. All of Peanut's tack got covered in Angie's original colors of forest/sage green, royal purple, and gold, which is a much prettier combination than it sounds. Then she had to sort through all of the extra pieces and organize them back into her tack box at home. After getting all the leather and bits out of the way finally she was getting ready to move onto blankets, when her cell phone rang.
"That's odd," she thought as she went to get it off the charger. "Who could be calling me now?" As she looked at the phone she realized it was Katie, her trainer/barn manager, and instantly filled with panic. She answered the phone glad to hear the first words out of Katie's mouth be, "Relax, no one is hurt or sick." Angie felt relief rush over her like a tidal wave and responded with, "What can I do for you this morning?" Katie proceeded to tell her that two new students had enrolled for the summer term at campus and they needed the stalls she had been boarding in for the past few months since she graduated. Angela knew this was happening and had already contacted the manager of Oak Hill Stables about boarding there. She was just waiting for the okay to move. Now she really had to make sure it happened and soon.
Angie continued to clean and organize. Now fretting waiting for the barn manager's call.
After going through the few blankets she had at home (mostly they were at the barn with the horses) she put them in blanket bags and packed them up. Brushes and wraps and shipping boots and halters, all of that got cleaned and sorted too.
After she was finally done she was so stressed about the barn situation she was in tears. She packed up Everest into his little coat, put all the stuff in her truck and headed for the barn. All the show stuff got packed into the trailer as well as anything she wouldn't need in the immediate future. She was too upset to work with the horses, so she just patted them, gave them treats and brushed them off quickly.
She proceeded with her day waiting for the call. Next stop was the tack store to restock all of her first aid kits and perhaps get a couple new things for herself while there was a sale going on and before the show season started.
