Joker stood calmly before her as the trainer stood flustered. She had missed the whole seminar on where Angela had kept her stuff and she was now standing there confused. She had every right to be. With the show in only a few days, she was just finding out she had another mount. Even though she had done it all before, getting all of her other horses ready had taken up most of her time. But she had promised Angela she would ride Joker, and by golly, she was going too.
Furrowing her brows together, Hannah took a step towards him with a brush in hand. At least she had focused enough to get that right. He pricked his ears towards her and lipped at her jacket. She brushed his nose aside as she started to sweep the stiff bristled brush across his body. He flinched sideways and pawed the ground. "Cut it out Joker," she scolded as she moved her way to his back. He tossed his head but stopped moving.
Hannah was hoping Angela would show up soon. She needed to know the horse inside and out before she even considered getting on his back. She had confidence but she didn't want to screw anything up. She was a seasoned rider and experience, but when it came to riding other peoples horses she was always wary on how they wanted to be ridden and how they behaved to certain things.

Angela was anxious to see how Joker would respond to Hannah's riding. She was usually concerned at the thought of new people riding her baby, but she was confident in the trainer's abilities and sensitiveness.
She was running a little later than she wanted to be but arrived in one piece. As she opened the door of her truck she reached into the backseat to get her new high-tech piece of equipment - crutches. She slowly climbed out and shut the door and started her hobble to the barn doors.
As she peered inside she saw Joker on the crossties being his typical self and she then recognized the voice of the girl beside him as Hannah. She called down the isle as her progress was, shall we say, less than speedy. "Sorry for our bad manners - one of those things you learn to ignore until someone else has to deal with it - but feel free to discipline him, he knows he's bad."
Angela sensed a hesitance about the trainer today, one she normally didn't. Immediately 80,000 thoughts jumped into her mind about what she should do. Her ultimate choice was to do very little other than be light hearted. She knew that not all horses and riders got along, and it might be the case for Joker and Hannah, but she had a feeling that it would go the other way and they'd get along splendidly.
"Well I doubt you remember where my tack is, what with the thousand other things you probably have to remember in a day, so I can get it for you if you'd like."
